| Giulio
Romano In approximately 1520, Giulio Romano made 16 erotic
drawings which were used by writer Pietro Aretino and engraver
Marcantonio Raimondi to illustrate the I Modi. Pope Clement VIII had
Marcantonio arrested for the engravings. The drawings or engravings no
longer exist. However in 1892 Frederick Waldeck claimed that he had
copied the originals and republished the copies.
